So, I went to bring toys to the Salvation Army today and they wouldn't take them because of that policy!!!!! I didn't think it went quite into effect yet. I am floored! I am mad! Some poor kids could do well and the government wants to mess with that! They said they thought Goodwill takes toys but I didn't run by there because I had just come from that way. I cannot believe it! I really don't know what to think. Zach had went through the boy's toys last night and we had two garbage bags full! They just don't play with them and their room is always trashed! Hopefully I can find somewhere to bring them. Some of them are good toys while others could probably just be tossed.

That is just so crazy. I can't believe that. Hopefully you can find some kids who will really enjoy them.
It hasn't gone into effect...they delayed it or something, I got an email about it. Maybe the SA just never got word so they are scared to accept something that could get them in trouble?
Find a local emergency children's shelter to donate them to...or a battered women's center.
Or local churches can always use stuff for their playrooms or to give to families in need. I would be mad too. I thought that resale shops were specifically exempt from it. But then again, I don't have to worry about being fined, fired, or jailed.... like the SA employees. That is just crazy!
Boy is that crazy! I am going to sell things at a Consignment sale this month. Ugh...so frustrating!
I was watching the news last night and was the Goodwill won't be taking anymore kids stuff either because they don't have the money to buy the equipment to detect lead...so much for buying used clothes for the kids! At least we can still do hand-me-downs...
