Another thing Chatterbox wanted to do for my birthday was to paint my nails. When she asked me weeks ago what I wanted for my birthday I said a pedicure. So, she got it in her mind to be the one to do just that...although only a manicure. We didn't get to it on my birthday, but yesterday morning the first thing I got was a manicure;) I am so thankful for such a loving, thoughtful daughter.

Conversations with Chatterbox
Last night Chatterbox and I went out to Chinese. I think she was expecting a buffet, but thankfully it wasn't. I'm not keen on buffets and preferred to just sit for awhile. We had a great time and wonderful conversation. I love going out with my daughter! I had asked her what we would do if they baby is a boy (I keep wondering now) and asked what we should name it if it were. She said the name of one of my ex-boyfriends and I told her that we couldn't name him that! So she got to asking questions, like if I kissed him. I was honest and told her yes, but that its best to save your kiss for your husband. Then she asked how I kissed him! She asked if I put my leg up when we kissed!!! I think that was in one of the Princess Diary movies, where Mia kissed a guy and put her leg up behind her as she kissed him, so I'm assuming Chatterbox thought that! I couldn't stop laughing about it!
Last weekend when I took her out I'd asked her something about her Barbies and she told me that sometimes when Booty Shaker plays with them he'll have them be naked and on top of each other (or something to that effect). I told her she didn't need to play with her Barbies that way (she insisted she didn't) and that that is only ok if a man and woman are married. She was really shocked about that and wondered about it. She apparently thought that its not ok for a husband and wife to see each other naked. Then she said how she never sees daddy & I like that and I had to explain to her that people need to do that stuff in private! It was hilarious!
I'm so glad she's still so naive to it all! I still can't believe she hasn't wondered where babies truly come from. But its all ok to me!!! The more 'innocent' she is to it all the better for now;) I'm sure the time will come soon enough.

Thankful
I am so thankful for my daughter. She's been a huge help to me. She will fix she and her brothers (and sometimes me) lunch when I ask her to. She'll sometimes get them breakfast. She sorted the laundry (it is crazy how much there is). She gets me things I need and helps with the boys. I'd be so lost without her help.
I'm also thankful that God provided us a church family already. How often do you move to a place and already have a church family (before you even move there)? Normally it takes us awhile! I know God provided it because He knew we'd need it. The Pastor's wife brought dinner last week, another woman called and said she'd try to bring dinner this week and another has emailed. I just wish we all didn't live so far from one another!!!
Well, off to rest. I am exhausted after a night of hardly any sleep.

i just wanna stay home!
Today we were gone all day! I had a doctor appointment at 9 am (more a patient intake thing) and 1 pm. Since my doctor is about 25 minutes away I just decided to stay in that town for the day. I managed to make it to Bath & Body Works to get some much desired hand soap and then I took the kids to BK to play. I think I should have just stuck with a park. They had fun but the AC in that part of the building must not have been working and I was dying (I had asked a worker about turning it on but don't think he did much about it)! Then Booty Shaker peed his pants. Quite the time at BK, I tell ya!
I had a stomachache all day, I think because I was real nervous about my appointment. I had heard some things about this doctor and didn't know what to expect. She is an older lady. I'm not quite sure what to think of her. She was very serious and all business. Which is fine, but I'd also like a little friendliness and personality in there! I keep telling myself, "What are the chances of her actually delivering the baby" and that reassures me a bit! The doctor had asked me about a TB test. When she left the room Chatterbox asked, "Mom, what's a TV test? Is that where people get too tired of watching TV?" It was SO funny and I couldn't stop laughing! (Oh, and I think it is retarded that these clinics have midwives but I wouldn't be able to see one because I've had a c-section). I wish I'd had more time to 'shop' for a provider...maybe next time.
We made a trip to Wally World and got a few items and headed home. Once I hit the interstate I smelled the worst smell. It smelled like nasty, sweaty butt. Now I've never actually smelled a nasty, sweaty butt but I'm certain it would smell like the smell we endured most of the way home. I think the outside of my vehicle still smells nasty. I kept wondering what on earth it was. I'd driven down that part of the road before without a nasty smell so I knew it wasn't any of the farms around there. Finally I spotted this garbage/dump truck and quickly was approaching it. What I saw was I think the nastiest thing I'd ever seen. On the top part of the open part of the truck (not in the truck, if that makes sense) was a bloody, dead piglet. It was so gross (and pretty sad too, and I thought of you Jodie of how you'd be bawling over the little piggy). I hope to never see a sight like that again, but I'm sure living in the Midwest I will! Ah, the joys of Iowa;)
Tonight I cleaned out the inside of the suburban- finally! I bought Booty Shaker a new car seat and figured I'm not sticking it in a dirty vehicle. Afterwards I was able to take a nice, cool bath. It was so refreshing. I probably hadn't taken a bath in at least a year. No, I don't stink, I just take showers! In our last house the water was so nasty looking there was no way I'd bathe in it! The bath was so refreshing and just the thing for this pregnant gal!
Oh, speaking of pregnant another thing that happened at my appointment was regarding my weight. I brought them my records from MS from this pregnancy and I think those records had my pre-pregnancy weight a bit higher. I actually may have weighed that much because I never did lose weight since losing the last two babies, but I don't like to think that I weighed that before I was pregnant. So when I had to put my pre-preg weight down today I said closer to my 'normal' weight. I guess I shouldn't have done that because the doctor said something about how I'm on the high side of weight gain. Which if you consider the weight I wrote today would be 30 lbs. already and I know I didn't gain that much! Nothing like your doctor thinking you are fat;) Just kidding! I guess I should have clarified with her but didn't think on it until later.
Oh, and another thing. It is one thing to pee in a cup, right? Well, they gave me this
to pee in and bring back to my next appointment! It looks like a pill bottle! I have a difficult enough time peeing in a normal cup! This should be interesting...
I have declared tomorrow stay-at-home day. I'm tired of running here, there and everywhere. What on earth is it like to stay home? It's been awhile since I've had a home to stay home in! But I look forward to just relaxing with the kiddos tomorrow.

An Evangelistic Princess
Although we've had an attitude from Princess lately (don't tell me at 8 they hit that already) I do have something cute to share. When my Aunt was here she asked her if she knows God (which she pretty much asks everybody- even our realtor). When my Aunt answered yes Princess proceeded to explain how she couldn't just know about God but that she needs to have a relationship with Him (it wasn't those exact words but that was the bottom line of it). I was so proud of her! She's got such a heart for people's souls! You go Princess!!!

Saturday in Pictures
I am relieved we left Iowa when we did what with the weather in that part of the country. I really feel terrible for those of you getting snow! That stinks!
I bought this shirt which looks real cute with white capri's.
We also went to Sonic for a hot fudge sundae as I've been craving ice cream! It was a wonderful date with my little girl! Now I'm off to cook dinner for a hungry family!

'The Revelation'
The other night Princess and I ran out to the store. When we were leaving she commented on the weather and I began to tell her how it was weird all over- that there were tornadoes in states an snow and ice in others. She then told me, "Maybe its the revelation", apparently meaning the end times. Ah, my girl you are so smart!
My revelation? Subway is my new best friend! I am quite addicted to it lately...I imagine I'll be wanting to stop there a lot on our trip. At least its healthier than many other places!

A Visit to Dr. Buddy
Who, you are asking, is Dr. Buddy? Why its the kids' dentist of course! Princess has had this adult tooth coming in for quite some time. The baby tooth would not loosen up and come out and it had been like this for awhile (she seems to have this problem with some teeth). Last week she managed to hit her mouth on the railing (shouldn't be running on the stairs!). She made that baby tooth go up into her mouth even more! I kept forgetting to call the dentist about it and I wasn't going to at first since they all have check-ups May 1. But I figure I'd better. I preferred for that tooth to be pulled out so the adult tooth can come in better.
Today was the day! She was a bit nervous about it, understandably so. They decided that yes the tooth did need to be extracted. I was relieved, although as I sat there with my daughter in the back I prayed fervently. I wanted her to be okay and wished she didn't have to go through with it! But she was such a trooper and did wonderfully.
Here is her tooth:
Notice the small size? Most of her tooth had dissolved and this is what was left! Pretty much it looks like only the part that we could see! It was unreal! I'd never heard of that before! And below you have the cute little treasure box that they put her tooth in!

8 Things about Princess on Her Birthday
2. She has a love for others. Although we don't always see this side of her, it is there. She often prays for the salvation of some of her friends she knows don't go to church. She will ask when we're going to go around the neighborhood to tell other people about Jesus. She has a true servants heart for the Lord.
3. She loves to read. Sometimes I think she likes to try to compete with me in finishing a book! Of course mine are usually at least 100 pages longer than hers are, but I still usually finish before her;) Just this morning on the way to church she told me that sometimes when she reads a book she gets sad and get tears in her eyes like I do!. When I asked her about this she said a boy died in the current book she's reading and she was crying a bit. I love it- like mother, like daughter!
4. She is a good student. For the most part. I have days and moments when I want that yellow bus to appear at my door (like any other homeschooling parent), but she excels really well. While she may complain "It's hard" she perseveres through it and does exceptionally well. Right now she's learning cursive writing and while she says its hard it looks great!
5. She's such a girly girl. I don't have to worry about her being a tomboy! She loves to play dolls, Barbies and with her stuffed animals. She loves to shop, fix her hair and look pretty. She loves to dress up, have her nails painted and she loves shoes. Typical female genes!
6. She loves her junk food. This is another trait she's inherited from me, although her dad loves his sweets too. Not like junk food is a good thing, I know its not, and just ask my mom- my children barely get any junk! But, just another point that she's my girl;)
7. She is so beautiful. She's got a huge, gorgeous smile. She loves to laugh. She's so tall and pretty. Inside she is a beauty as well. She loves Jesus and that makes her shine!
8. She is an all-around blessing. I am so thankful to the Lord for bringing her into our life 8 years ago. It's hard to believe that that much time has gone by! I remember like it was yesterday the day she was born and the first time I got to lay eyes on her, and later the first time I was able to hold her. She is truly a gift and joy from the Lord.
Happy Birthday Princess! We love you!

Princess' Party
Yesterday was Princess' birthday party. She was so excited to be having her friends come over to celebrate! I didn't plan much to do at all. She invited 5 girls but only 3 showed up (plus the whole family of one of the girls). We had a little scavenger hunt outside that they all enjoyed working together on. Then she opened her gifts and the girls went upstairs to play with the toys for awhile. It was so relaxing! Finally I realized we'd better eat cake before it was time for everybody to go! I had just enough cake. I think Princess was counting on some being left over for tomorrow, her actual birthday, but I doubt that will be the case since there is only one piece left!
This picture below is so funny. She was going to give me a flower she picked as I was snapping a picture! It cracks me up!
Here she is with her friends. They all seemed to get along well and had a great time!
She opened a jewelry making kit we got her. She loves to make jewelry and her and I made some bracelets last night. I even wore mine to church today!

This is her American Girl doll, April, that she got for Christmas. Nanny and Papa got her this swimsuit that she wanted for her doll. She was pretty excited!
I thought this was cute...her little brother is sitting next to her rather than one of her friends. We sent the kids outside to eat cake since it was so nice out and I was surprised to see that the girls didn't all congregate together!

Following in her mother's footsteps?
I sure hope not! When I was a girl I was so boy crazy! I remember from early elementary school until the time I got married I was so wanting male companionship. There was always some guy that I liked, it seemed. I always thought it was because I wasn't as close to my dad as I wanted to be and that I was trying to find that through boys (my social worker coming out in me). Well, Princess has been talking about the Preacher's son for some time now. She doesn't even know the boy, besides his name! She is 7, will be 8 at the end of March and in 2nd grade! I think this boy is in 5th grade but I'm not certain! I often hear her talking to Little Man about him. Apparently she had written the boy a note and sent Little Man on a mission to deliver it (thanks to my baby-sitter for disclosing this information to me). Of course, Little Man is even younger than Princess so what must this boy have thought with these two little kids coming up to him with a note? And I can imagine that Little Man told the boy what it said! Thankfully the boy didn't take it, he said he didn't want it. Princess threw it away (poor girl wonder if her heart was broken). When I asked her what it said she said she wrote 'I love you. I want to marry you.' Girl, you are way to young to think of marrying. You will meet many boys by the time you are of marriageable age. Yet I hear from other friends this is 'normal' for girls! I suppose if I look back at myself I was the same way, but I don't consider myself 'normal' (ha). Will there be a time when she looks at boys and thinks, "Ew, they have germs" or will she be like mama and like those cute little boys?
