2 cans of pop + one cold freezer = one unhappy woman
Last night Zach thought he'd do my a favor by putting 2 cans of pop in the freezer so they'd get cold faster. Only he didn't tell me. And he forgot about them. I opened the freezer to a mess that also seeped into the fridge a bit and all over the floor. Of course this all happened when he was at work so guess who had to clean it up? You got it- me. I was so irritated. Not really at him as much as just the whole thing. I JUST mopped the floors a couple of days ago. Since the little incident I've remopped them twice. I just can't stand sticky floors and they still felt sticky. Let's hope the second mopping did the trick.

11 days of leave + Christmas = a possible trip HOME
Zach thinks we should drive all the way home for Christmas. It's about a 24 hour drive. Only we've never done it in winter so I have no idea how long it would take. While I really want to go home since we've never spent a Christmas at home since we've been married I'm also thinking practically: a) with what money b) in the middle of winter c) the kids have no winter clothes as far as boots, snowpants, mittens, etc d) hauling gifts to and fro e) which family would we see and not see on such a short trip (many of them moved further away) f) where would we stay g) I'd freeze!
But on the other hand it would be awesome to see our families on Christmas! And I know they would love it too. Princess and Little Man have seen snow but vaguely remember it- they would LOVE to play in the snow! So I sit here debating what to do. While I want to go part of me thinks its not the wisest decision. Then again what if we get orders somewhere even further away that would prevent us from going home for Christmas for the next 3-4 years? Decisions, decisions, decisions.

GO HOME! GO HOME! GO HOME! When it comes to visiting family, especially ones that you don't see often, DO IT! You have an opportunity, take it. Even though there are all the if, buts, and ands, think of the positives. You're kids will have great memories and so will you! And even if it's a disaster, you will have great blogging material. hehhe....
Levi and I talked a bit about having Christmas next year at his farm and how nice it would be to have you guys and A.Suzy and U. Stan come too! Make it a whole big week long event or something! Jaclyn and I could cook and bake at my dads (and clean up the clutter!) and we could have everybody there instead of at grandma and grandpas. Remember how much fun we used to have at their house on the bay? Skiing and playing in the snow? It would be a wonderful memory for our kids to have with their cousins! :)
Just a thought...who knows what next year will bring? *sigh* :)
Aggg...I didn't proofread again! I meant to say at my dad's farm...my mind was moving faster than my fingers! LOL
Oh...goodness...I made a mess in my kitchen like that a couple of weeks ago when my dad was visiting...Bob didn't put the sweet tea back in the fridge right and when I opened the door and tried to get something out I got a gallon of sweet tea all over my floor...I scrubbed twice too - on my hands and knees! And I had my dad help me move the fridge so I could clean out under it!
What would these men do without us?! LO
Geez, 24 hours! That;s a loooong drive with 3 kids. I'm already groaning about the hour and a half this Sunday for Chris' family and thw 5 hours next weekend for mine.
Tough choice!!! Good luck making that call.
Would someone care to meet you part way? Say your mom and Kim in, oh I don't know, Chicago or something? Something to think about..That is a long drive.... it's a long drive to you guys from here and then to tack another 6 or so hours onto it in winter....but you could make some wonderful memories with a snowy Michigan Christmas....I'm not helping you out at all, am I? =)
What about the train to here and rent a car for the rest of the way or have someone pick you up or...
Oh the pop thing would just drive me nuts...I still have some Dt Pepsi drops I missed in my freezer from doing that myself about 2 years ago. I've wondered if you seal them in a ziplock bag as added insurance if that would help.
Also, I forgot to say this:
Sorry I didn't make it to the park. Thursday was a bad day. I'd love to come some other time if you let me know when. I was looking forward to it but I wasn't able to get everything in gear.
Big decision! Did you guys decide yet?
