Following in her mother's footsteps?

I sure hope not! When I was a girl I was so boy crazy! I remember from early elementary school until the time I got married I was so wanting male companionship. There was always some guy that I liked, it seemed. I always thought it was because I wasn't as close to my dad as I wanted to be and that I was trying to find that through boys (my social worker coming out in me). Well, Princess has been talking about the Preacher's son for some time now. She doesn't even know the boy, besides his name! She is 7, will be 8 at the end of March and in 2nd grade! I think this boy is in 5th grade but I'm not certain! I often hear her talking to Little Man about him. Apparently she had written the boy a note and sent Little Man on a mission to deliver it (thanks to my baby-sitter for disclosing this information to me). Of course, Little Man is even younger than Princess so what must this boy have thought with these two little kids coming up to him with a note? And I can imagine that Little Man told the boy what it said! Thankfully the boy didn't take it, he said he didn't want it. Princess threw it away (poor girl wonder if her heart was broken). When I asked her what it said she said she wrote 'I love you. I want to marry you.' Girl, you are way to young to think of marrying. You will meet many boys by the time you are of marriageable age. Yet I hear from other friends this is 'normal' for girls! I suppose if I look back at myself I was the same way, but I don't consider myself 'normal' (ha). Will there be a time when she looks at boys and thinks, "Ew, they have germs" or will she be like mama and like those cute little boys?

Awww that is so cute. I don't think there was ever a time I didn't harbor a secret crush on a boy. So I agree, I never had the boys are icky stage either. I might have lied about it and said I didn't like this boy or that boy, but I really did. That is so funny that P wrote that in the note. LOL

LOL, oh dear! I remember starting the note thing in third grade.

We were working in 4's this Sunday and I was trying to convince a FOUR year old that she was way too young to have a boyfriend. She kept insisting that she did.

Yes, you were always boycrazy, my friend....funny that it seems to be going right on down the line. =)

I can remember quite a few guys you either dated or had crushes on...in fact I often think about Urpi (however you spell that) even now cuz he had such a funny name.

LOL Luke got a note from one of Jozie's little friends last year - I saved it because it was so cute! She is the same age as him and at the time they were 6. It said, "Luke, I think you are coot! So coot!" And then she drew this little picture of a bride and groom and said something about them kissing someday when they get married! LOL I will have to find it and scan it in to post it!

Jozie isn't too bad with boys but she knows that daddy said that she can't date until she is married and she can't get married until she's 30! LOL

So far Sarah has been quiet about boys. He will mention a boy every now and again she thinks is cute. One little boy at church about 2 years ago she had a crush on. Right now she is too involved in her girlfriends and drawing horses to be concerned with boys. I did however have to bring up a boys name to her teacher last year that was bothering her. He had a major crush on her and she wasn't interested at all. I hope she remains interested in school more then boys for a long time to come. She is in 3rd right now so I just need to keep the communication lines open. :D

Huh, we've had talks about marriage since Mel was 2. I think it was more from his end though. Although, it ended soon enough when he said she is too picky. They are so cute though. Todd also tells the girls they can't date until they're 37.
