Coastal Living

We've had an eventful weekend. Friday Zach was off so he took Cuddly Boy out for the morning. The other two did school. We watched a couple of movies that night, including Evan Almighty. That is a cute movie!

Yesterday a local church had a little family festival with inflatables and food. So, we took the kiddos there for a while. Then we took a drive across the new bridge. Remember when we stood in front of the bridge from the damage Hurricane Katrina did? It is amazing how they've already completed part of the bridge! It is pretty nice and it's a big deal down here, but I even saw it on the national news!

After that we went to the Peter Anderson Festival. It's a big, annual arts festival and we haven't gone before. So I said we needed to go this year because chances are we won't be here next year for it. I didn't think it would be so huge! The streets were filled with all sorts of art- pottery, paintings, jewelry. Not to mention music and food. The weather was nice and my face even got a bit sunburned! We walked away empty handed, but with full bellies;) It was nice to do something different! We came home and had dinner and then I went to an 'open house'.

Our housing area isn't very big and it seems once in awhile I get an invitation in my mailbox to some sort of party (even though I don't know anybody). This open house had many of the home business/parties all in one- from candles to scrapbooking to make-up to food. Not to mention they had a catalog for things of the adult nature I would never buy. I picked it up not knowing what it was and quickly laid it back down, quite embarrassed! It was nice to meet some new ladies, one of whom was even from Michigan. There are many who live in this housing from Michigan, it seems. I even walked away with two prizes!

Well, I'm off to prepare our week's school lessons. What did you do this weekend for excitement?

Our weekends lately, like the rest of the week, are pretty uneventful. Bob works on weekends so we don't even have the car to go for a ride here or there - unless I get up with him and get the kids ready to get him to work by 8...that isn't going to happen anytime soon!

We haven't been to the in-laws lately because of his work schedule - it's been pretty boring here around our house lately!

You tripped me up for a minute there using Cuddly Boy's real name.

Oooohhhh, the pictures of the bridge absolutely brought tears to my eyes. The healing that brought to the area must just be a sight to see. I miss it so much there and am heartbroken that we weren't there to see it. Thanks for posting the link to see those pictures, they are beautiful!

We like Evan Almighty too.

I bet it will be nice to have that bridge in order again!

The Art Fair sounds like fun. Ann Arbor has a huge one that I went to many years ago.
