Party time

We had a surprise promotion party for Zach today! I'm not sure he's ever had a luncheon or anything before! Most people from his work aren't here as they're at training, its just Zach & the commander and then the secretary, Carla. Carla and CO's wife made all the food and it was our family, the commander's family and Carla & her husband. They gave me flowers and even gave the kids a bag with a bunch of toys! They had delicious food and cake and did a little ceremony. We even got to punch Zach's stripes on him! That, too, was a first! It was really a special time, especially in light of all the other stuff going on at work! The commander is new here and his wife seems really nice- they seem real down to earth. Zach was real surprised- he had no clue at all! It sure was fun keeping it a secret the past two days! To think that in a few short hours he'll be a Master Sergeant! I know he's really excited to wear that extra stripe!

Oh and I had fun talking to the boys about it this morning and showing them the difference between a Tech Sgt stripe and Master Sgt stripe! Fun stuff :) I'm proud of you, Zach! Not many people make it to Master and those that do don't normally hit it at 11 1/2 years! You ROCK!!!
